point and click navigation allows even new staff members to be up to speed
in a matter of days.
- Professional patient statements are printed at the end of each
encounter with information about their visit:
- Spectacle information
- Diagnosis info <if desired>
- Pre-configured scripts <by each office/doctor> disseminating
information about the patients diagnosis'.
- Billing information including patient and insurance company balances.
- Apex also prints a configurable script at the bottom of each statement
allowing each office to notify patients of collection policies etc.

- Frame Inventory tracking, and sales tracking. Either by staff
member <great for bonus programs> or by manufactures. The manufacturer
feature is great to use when each frame rep comes in. You can see at a
glance how many of his/her frames you have moved.

Typical cost for minimum required computer is $500.00
to $1000.00<max>.
Apex is an application written in Microsoft Access. This allows for routine
PC hardware to be used. Apex does NOT require an expensive "high
performance" server computer, since most of the data manipulation is
done on the workstations.
-Intel Celeron, Pentium III or IV CPU 850MHz or faster
-Hard Drive 8.0Gigs or larger 7200rpm recommended
-Memory 128 Megs for Workstation / 256 for Server
-Monitor 17" or larger capable of 1024X768 resolution
-Network Card 10/100. Integrated in motherboard is fine
-Keyboard and Mouse
-Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista. (Windows 98 and lower not
supported).
Server Options:
We recommend a Network Attached Storage (NAS)
running a Linux kernel for the "server" end of your network. The
Server or NAS is a place to park the backend data tables and Exam/Topo images
only.
We recommend a Buffalo Linkstation 250gig. (this
is what our office runs)
Apex will work
with a Windows® Server, however the server software versions of windows are far
more expensive than an entire NAS device.
